AISI 303 is an austenitic stainless steel designed for excellent machinability due to the addition of sulphur (S), which facilitates machinability. It is ideal for precision mechanical small parts with diameters between 3 and 32 mm and lengths up to 250 mm.

When to avoid AISI 303?

If needed maximum corrosion resistance (better AISI 304 or 316)

In environments saline or with chlorides (risk of crevice corrosion)

If you need good weldability (the sulphur worsens weldability)
